Asking for your prayers

This afternoon, I received a call saying that my dad had fallen off a roof, and they were rushing him to the hospital.  If any of you know my dad, you know he has worked construction all of his life and is a very hard worker.  He is 76 years old, and still thinks he can do the work of a 40 year old!!  (and most of the time he can!!)  Well, today, he was helping my brother put a metal roof on a house,  and it started to sprinkle so they decided to get off the roof immediately because it becomes very slippery when wet.  As my dad went to get off the roof, his foot slipped, and he slid clear down the roof and fell around 9 feet, onto concrete.  He fell on his feet and then fell backward and hit his head.  They rushed him to the emergency room,  ran several tests, and fortunately (I know that sounds weird) he only broke his left knee, and broke his right ankle and heel.  He ended up having 15 stitches  in his head also.  Praise God that he has no other injuries.  The ER doctor said he was very fortunate that he didn't have a skull fracture, or back injury.  It was very scary this afternoon, but I knew that God was with him.  We will know more in the morning whether he has to have knee replacement surgery, or what they are going to do with him.  I am in tears right now....thankful to God that my dad is going to be ok.  I covet your prayers for him.  I know it is going to be a long healing process.  I love my dad so much, and it is really hard to see him suffering.

Oh, no!!!! I 'm so sorry to hear about this!! It hits close to home for me because my husband is a construction worker and alot of his jobs are roofing! In the 6 years we've been married he's fallen off a roof twice! Thankfully both times, due to God's proctetion, he was fine and didn't even go to the hospital. No broken bones or anything!!

Needless to say every morning when he leaves for work I breathe a prayer for him!

I'm glad that things weren't worse for your father and pray that he will have a speedy recovery!
